Ultem® Machined Parts

M&R Engineering creates Ultem® machined parts to meet the specific needs of our customers. Polyetherimide (PEI), often known by the brand name Ultem®, is a common heat-resistant polymer that stays strong and rigid at high temperatures while presenting minimal smoke.
When To Use Ultem® Machined Parts
In order to improve tensile strength and rigidity, Ultem® can be filled with up to 30% glass. Therefore, this plastic is commonly utilized in the aerospace, automotive, electrical, and medical industries. Additional notable features of Ultem® machined parts are: it is semi-transparent, resistant to UV, and resistant to gamma radiation. Due to these key features, nozzles, bushings, and connectors are commonly made out of Ultem®. In addition, Ultem® meets UFDA/USDA and USP regulations. M&R Engineering can assist you with your plastic machining needs. Contact us to learn more about how Ultem® and plastic CNC turning can benefit your project.
